Getting Processed is a powerful book that reveals how cycles of difficulty in life can actually help you become closer to God. My good friend and author, Jim Hill does a masterful job in walking the reader through the processing God does in our lives.
This easy-to-read book of 52 pages is a one or two sitting read. It hits close to home for most of us. The pruning portion of life is never something to which we look forward. However, we always love the beauty of the vine of our life in full bloom. Jim is real when he describes the processes we go through, recognizing and surviving the cycles of spiritual growth.
Facing a challenge at the outset seems all wrong for us. Jim articulates well how we feel like we must have missed something because we were living well for God but then this pain hits us; loss of a job or loved one, relationships go upside down, financial blow, etc. He then describes the middle level of processing where we begin to learn and understand truth that may have been hidden from us before. Finally, he describes the person we are becoming. This is the piece that allows us to believe there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
I highly recommend Getting Processed for this reason. You are either about ready to get processed or you are currently being processed or you are about done being processed (for now). Wherever you are at on the continuum this book will help you greatly appreciate all that God is doing in your life.
