Theology in a Nutshell
By Ken Horn
Every pastor who is serious about bringing new believers along in their faith should have a half dozen copies of this book in his resource library.
Ken Horn does a magnificent job communicating to the reader in the simplest language. He believes you should not concern yourself with hamartiology, soteriology and ecclesiology when you can read and understand the subjects of sin, salvation, and the church?
The author takes special care in describing those three subjects along with the Bible, the Trinity, Jesus, and the human condition. He debunks the idea that doctrine is a bad word. It is not. He answers the question, "What is theology?" There is never a point in his writings where you are left wondering. He is abundantly clear.
In a world where the existence of God is many times seen as not worth discussing, Ken makes clear the truth of His existence. The nature of the universe and mankind's relationship to the creator of it are spelled out with clarity.
As I read the book I though of the person who just accepted Christ. They stepped across the line of faith and all the angels in heaven are in a state of rejoicing. If this book is not given to them in the altar room it certainly is one that should be given to every young believer in the early days or weeks of their new walk of faith. They are asking questions about the faith. To that end, Theology in a Nutshell will help them immensely.
