Uncommon
By Tony Dungy

"Success is uncommon, therefore not to be enjoyed by the common man. I'm looking for uncommon people." In the 70s, University of Minnesota football coach, Cal Stoll, spoke those words to the freshman team. That team included this book's author, Tony Dungy.

To any man in ministry this book has a parallel thrust. On one hand you read it as a man, head-of-household, husband, father, son and brother. On the other hand you read it as a leader in the church. On both fronts Dungy is powerful and clear in the message to be uncommon.

Dungy has established himself as a Christian leader in the arena of sports having won a Super Bowl and multitude of other victories and awards. It is inspiring to see a major passion of Coach Dungy - to raise up men worthy of being role models to be a nation of boys who look up to them; men of character, integrity and courage.

He does a masterful job in communicating the development of the core of a man. His words and example in loving his family and lifting friends resounds with most. He writes of a person's full potential and of establishing a mission that matters.

It is impressive to observe a man of Dungy's stature communicating influence over image. He has earned the right to speak of faith, eternal self-esteem, our relationship with Christ, and our purpose and significance.

Uncommon? That's what every Christian leader should strive for. Dungy nails it. Get the book and be Uncommon!
